Storytelling concept for the 125th anniversary of Interlaken

Enigma Strategy & Branding developed a concept for the visual appearance of the 125th anniversary campaign of Interlaken.

Ambition

Interlaken is a place well-known for vacations and business meetings in the middle of the Swiss Alps, between two lakes. Enigma worked out a concept for the visual appearance of the 125th anniversary campaign of Interlaken.

Actions

Based on the town’s identity, which was defined through historical analysis, a concept was created based on the theme “encounter”. The history of Interlaken has a repetitive pattern of people creating revolutionary ideas while being in Interlaken. For example, Cantor and Dedekind met in Interlaken and the understanding of modern mathematics changed as a result of their findings. Today, important corporate events take place in Interlaken and groups that are living out their passion enjoy the infrastructure and the hospitality of the town. Enigma designed a dynamic logo showing the silhouette of two opposite profiles as a core product. One of these profiles symbolically shows someone who lives in Interlaken, the other profile is of a guest feeling welcomed.

This dynamic identity would have realised its full potential through viral distribution and therefore carried the tradition of the town out into the world.

Impact

Through this new approach in logo creation, Enigma could apply its standing out creativity in an exciting project.
